The Chevalier chess pieces are handcrafted in India and available in three combinations: ebony with boxwood, padauk with boxwood, and the distinctive pairing of ebony with padauk. All versions are unlacquered, allowing the natural character of each wood to remain visible.

With a king height of 4.4 in, the pieces are weighted for steady handling during play. A defining feature of the set is the king’s crown, which comes with four individually carved finial designs for each colour—an uncommon level of variation that gives each set a distinct character.

The knight is carved with close attention to form and proportion, and the overall profile of the set balances traditional structure with refined detailing. The king base diameter is 5.0 cm (1.97 in), and the pawn base diameter is 3.8 cm (1.50 in). These measurements suit 6 cm squares comfortably, keeping positions easy to read without crowding.
