The Saga chess set combines the Viking chess pieces with the Venezia chess board. With a king height of 3.75 in and 5.0 cm (1.97 in) squares, the set has compact tournament-size proportions that remain clear and practical in regular play. The pieces follow a familiar tournament pattern, while the board gives the combination a balanced and refined overall character.

Handcrafted in India, the pieces are made from ebony and boxwood and have a smooth lacquered finish. The king base diameter is 4.1 cm (1.61 in), and the pawn base diameter is 2.7 cm (1.06 in). On 5.0 cm (1.97 in) squares, these proportions leave clear spacing between neighbouring pieces and keep the layout easy to read.

Made in Italy, the Venezia chess board measures 51 cm (20.1 in) on each side. Its high-gloss finish reinforces the lacquered character of the pieces and brings out the contrast of the squares without making the overall presentation feel heavy. The set includes one additional queen per side.
