The Roma chess board is handmade in Florence, Italy, from walnut root and white maple veneer, with a high-gloss lacquered finish.
Each veneer square is inlaid by hand. The varied figure of the walnut root gives every board a slightly different surface pattern, while its deep brown tones provide clear contrast during play.
The Roma chess board measures 51 cm (20.1 in) overall and has 5.0 cm (1.97 in) squares. It suits tournament-size chessmen, including the Earl, Vulcan, New York, and Viking series.
