The Maharaja chess set brings together the Duke chess pieces and the Da Vinci chess board. Handcrafted in India from lacquered boxwood (light pieces) and lacquered ebony (dark pieces), the pieces have a deep, high-gloss finish that emphasises the contrast between the two sides. With a king height of 4.4 in, the set is defined by a rounded, domed king profile and a distinctly carved knight, giving the pieces a sculptural, decorative presence while remaining practical for play.

The king base diameter is 4.3 cm (1.69 in), and the pawn base diameter is 3.2 cm (1.26 in). These proportions fit naturally on 6.0 cm (2.36 in) squares, leaving comfortable spacing between neighbouring pieces and keeping positions easy to read.

Made in Florence, Italy, the Da Vinci chess board measures 60 cm (23.6 in) on each side and is finished in a high-gloss lacquer. The chess pieces come with a Certificate of Authenticity, and the set includes one additional queen per side.
