The Segovia is a large chessboard designed with an emphasis on practicality and balanced proportions. Weighing approximately 3.5 kg, the board is easy to move when needed, while remaining sufficiently stable during play.

The playing surface is composed of brown ash burl, contrasted with light maple. The swirling grain of the burl veneer creates natural variation across the board, while the construction remains durable and well suited for regular use.

The Segovia measures 60.0 cm (23.6 in) overall and features 6.0 cm (2.36 in) squares, making it compatible with club‑size chessmen. It works equally well with lacquered and non‑lacquered pieces and serves as a versatile choice across a wide range of sets.

The board is also available in a medium 50.0 cm (19.7 in) size with 5.0 cm (1.97 in) squares as the Cordoba chessboard.
