The Cordoba is a medium‑sized chessboard intended for regular play and practical use. Its scale follows standard proportions, making it suitable for tournament‑size chessmen.
The playing surface is composed of brown ash burl veneer, contrasted with light erable squares. The naturally swirling grain of the burl introduces variation across the board, giving each board a distinct surface pattern while maintaining clarity and consistency during play.
Measuring 50.0 cm (19.7 in) overall with 5.0 cm (1.97 in) squares, the Cordoba is compatible with chessmen featuring a King height of approximately 3.75–4.00 inches. The board provides a balanced playing surface without excess weight, making it easy to handle while remaining stable on the table.
A larger related board is available in a 60.0 cm (23.6 in) format with 6.0 cm (2.36 in) squares as the Segovia chessboard.
